“Not every victory shows up on the scoreboard” – Unknown. The Buffalo girls’ hockey team has had a busy season so far this year, traveling to a lot of their games. They have traveled from Buffalo to Roseau. The team has had three victories, four ties and 15 losses, but the team plans to fight to the end of their season.
Staying out of the penalty box, sophomore Emma Moline plays defense for the team. “The game against North Wright county was one of my favorite games because they are our rivals and it’s a good competition,” said Moline. The Bison played the River Hawks twice this season and both games came out close with final scores being,1-2 and 0-1.
Defending her territory, Moline’s skills on defense help keep the puck on the offensive side. “Playing defense is fun and mentally engaging because you always are involved,” said Moline.
Moline has played for Buffalo hockey since kindergarten and has improved her skills in many ways. “Keeping my head up when skating is something I have become better at this year. I can see all my options that are open on the ice,” said Moline.
Shooting to be the best, Moline sets goals for herself this season. “My goals this season are to keep pushing through during the games and having a short memory if I make a mistake,” said Moline. This season Moline reached one of her biggest goals which was to make the varsity team.
The Buffalo girls hockey team has played a total of 22 games this year and are reaching the end of their season.
