Diving Deep into the New Week

  Learning, laughing, help with loss

Buffalo Swimming and Diving worked hard against Eden Prairie on Friday, February 4. “Even though we lost, our team had a ton of fun that day,” said senior Evan Krasnow. The team score final was 71-95.

It is important for the team to still have fun and bond even during tough losses. “My favorite ways of having fun with the team includes cheering loudly, taking team pictures, and going out to eat after meets with the team,” said Krasnow.

Being a good teammate means cheering for everyone no matter the score. This meet took place in the big Eden Prairie Community Center, so they really had to use their voices.

“The meet began at 5:30, so before the bus came we all sat around talking and eating Jimmy Johns,” said eighth grader Hayden Dircks. Hayden contributes to the team by swimming the 50 or 100 yard breaststroke race.

Losses are definitely hard, but when you have people around you having fun it’s much better. Losing is really just learning. The swimmers will take this lesson and apply it to their next big dive against Hopkins.
