CREATIVE KOLEHMAINEN

Through a virtual meet, Junior Aidan Kolehmainen presents his speech during the final round at the home meet. “My category is Creative Expression,” said Kolehmainen, “Which is where you write your own speech and perform it.” His speech was titled The Way’s of a Teacher’s Kid, and received a lot of positive feedback from his work. 

NO HURDLES FOR HADLER

Being her fourth year in the category of Original Oratory, Junior Calli Hadler chose to write and present a speech on empathy. “I encourage people to go forward in their life and to lead with the assumption of positive intent, to help us remember to be empathetic instead of judgemental,” said Hadler. Her speech placed her fourth in her category.

GET IT, GIRL!

Participating in speech for the past five years, Junior Josephine Niemiecis in the category of Great Speeches. “My speech is about a woman from the early 1900s that was fighting for women’s right to vote,” said Neimec, “And I have placed first, second (twice) and fifth at my meets this year.” Niemiec competed, like the rest of the team, virtually in the same classroom each Saturday.
