Sending the Cubs Back to the Den

The stands were packed, the girls were nervous, and the competition was fierce, Tuesday February 4, as the Irish played long time rival Kimball. “This was a game no one wanted to lose. We needed to play our best,” said Senior Samantha Wassermann.

The girls played hard and clean despite having to go against the Cubs (a generally scrappy team). “It was extremely frustrating at times because I felt like the refs weren’t calling anything, so we just had to play through it,” said Senior Kate LaTour.

The game was very fast past and at times out of control. “Our goal was to push the tempo on defense and to transition quickly to offense. It gave us easy fast break layups but also caused a lot of chaos on the court,” said Senior Grace Heying.

In the end, the Irish won 46-27. “The team was very hype,” said Wassermann. The girls made beating Kimball a goal for this year and worked very hard to accomplish it.

Girls basketball keeps the impressive wins coming and the team looks forward to more future wins to come.
