A Smash of a Homecoming Week

Even with rain and cold temperatures Homecoming still week kicked off with powderpuff football outside and followed with a game of he-man volleyball in the gym. The junior girls took the win with football, but the senior boys defeated the junior boys in volleyball. “It was a close match,” said Junior Noah Beffel. These events took place on a Sunday when it was pretty gloomy but spirits still remained high.

On Monday, students had two big events. A parade took place in which the eighth graders won the float decorating contest. Following that was coronation in which, Aiden Staloch was crowned  as our king and Katie Goelz as our queen.

Throughout the week numerous dress up days took place. They were: merica day, movie day, class color day, throwback day, and spirit day. “I went out and bought leggings just for merica day,” said Junior Gabie Hoffman who was clearly excited about the dress up days.

On Friday, the pep fest included lots of interesting activities. Students could smash a car for $1, there was also tug of war, and toilet bowl races.

Following the pep fest on Friday, there was the homecoming football game where the Irish took the win. Lastly, there was the homecoming dance. “The dance was the highlight of my night,” said sophomore Nevaeh Lindsey.

Homecoming successfully raised the Irish spirit after all of the bad weather.
