The Maple Lake Irish started off 2-0 the first week of the season. “We have a lot of good arms returning this season and we hit decent. We will be a tough team to be,” said Senior Hunter Malachek.

Maple Lake defeated Litchfield, and then Norwood Young America. “We have been pitching very well, plus our conference has been firing on all cylinders. Our team communication is key,” said Junior Nate Hogan.

Maple Lake made a deep run into the state playoffs last season. Can they do it again? “We have to find our new roles. We lost a lot of leadership in seniors, but I know as a team we can get back to state,” said Junior Grant Mergen.

The Irish started a slugger season strong. After two wins over Litchfield and N.Y.A. the team is playing very well, but they will be put to the test when the play the Annandale Cardinals on April 13.
